On May 5, 2016, on behalf of Mien Tay Construction University (MTU), Dr. Nguyen Van Chieu - Vice Rector - visited Consulate General of the Lao PDR in Ho Chi Minh City. Receiving MTU’s delegation was Mr. Somxay Sanam-Oune – Consul General; Mr. Phonesavanh – Consul, and other attaché of Consulate General of the Lao PDR in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Van Chieu granted 05 full scholarships in the subject area of Civil Engineering (sponsored by MTU) to Lao students. Besides, he suggested establishing relationship between MTU and universities/colleges of Laos to promote mutual understanding, academic collaboration, cultural and personnel exchanges in the future.
The Laotian Consul-General in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Somxay Sanam-Oune, thanked leaders of MTU for warm sentiments towards Lao people. He also expressed his belief in the cooperative relationship between MTU and Laos’ local universities in the years to come.
